    ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) — a processor connector type for processor connection requiring no force. As a result, the chance of damaging of the fragile processor contacts during plugging into the connector.

    Zip — a specific compressed file format linked to WinZip by an application.

    Zmodem — a data transfer protocol which substituted the Xmodem and the Ymodem.

    Zombie — a computer controlled by bot-programs.
