    XCMOS (eXtended CMOS) — an additional CMOS memory area designed for system settings’ parameter storage.

    XGA (eXtended Graphics Adapter) — a graphic adaptor supporting 1024х768x16 and 640х480х65K modes. Used to be utilized in IBM PS/2 computers.

    XMM (eXtended Memory Manager) — a driver controlling the access to the extended memory in systems having a processor of 286 and more, for example, Himem.sys from the DOS supply.

    XMS (eXtended Memory Specification) — an interface enabling the programs of the real mode to save data in the extended memory.

    Xmodem — a data transfer protocol for modems with the speed from 300 to 1 200 bit/sec. Designed in mid 70-s for computers having CP/M operating system.

    XMS (eXtended Memory Specification) — a standard designed by Microsoft providing the real mode applications to access the extended memory.

    XOFF (eXchange OFF) — a program instruction for data exchange control between a computer and a modem. Prohibits data exchange.

    XON (eXchange ON) — a program instruction for data exchange control between a computer and a modem. Allows data exchange.

    XT (eXtended Technology) – an IBM PC/XT computer model name.
