    Hacker — a person, who tries to get access to a computer illegally or without authorization.

    Hacking tool — a program used by a hacker to perform the actions, which can cause problems of the injected computer user, e.g. to allow a hacker to control an injected computer, to steal a confidential information, to scan communication ports, etc.

    Hardware — a term relating to all physical elements in IT system: a screen, a keyboard, a mouse, memory, a hard disk, microprocessor, etc.

    HDD (Hard Disk Drive) — a device for continuous storage of information, that does not disappear after computer switching off, on the hard disk with a magnetic layer.

    Header (of a file) — a part of a file, where the information about the very file and its location is stored.

    Heuristic scan — a term connected with a problem, that is solved by the trial-and-error approach in the world of computers. It relates to the technology of unknown viruses detection.

    Hoax warnings — not a virus but a fake message warning about the non-existing virus.

    Host — a term relating to any computer, that operates as a source of information.

    Hosting — server network place lease to allocate users’ pages and sites.

    HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) — a communication system, that allows to view the web-sites through the browser.

    Hyperlink — a pointer contained in the hypertext, sending a user to the text area or connected document, physically located in another computer or in another folder. In the Internet reference clicking (usually, it is marked by a special color and underlined) is followed by the new network page or file loading.

    Hypertext — a type of the text document, which separate parts can be located in different computers and connected with the help of hyperlinks. The hypertext principle is in the base of the pages system of the global network Internet (WWW).
